Post-Expo 2018: Future-Proof Automation through Sortation and Singulation Solutions

Post-Expo 2018

Presenting High Throughput Solutions for Bulk Handling and Adaptable Automation

From large modern Parcel hubs to couriers and smaller express centres, a lot hinges around the procurement of high efficiency equipment to optimise available space and maximise productivity –alike, the trend for end users and integrators is currently striving for increased levels of automation.

At PostExpo 2018, visit TRANSNORM Group at Stand B2. 173 where exhibits include an extensive range of conveyor modules and solutions which enable businesses to handle the heightened parcel throughput born out of greater online sales via ecommerce platforms. Functions range from loading and unloading using SOVEX telescopic boom conveyors, through the TRANSNORM product portfolio designed with the ideal of ‘Global Excellence for Parcel’ at the forefront.

The Group presents its latest development, TRANSNORM Singulation Concept (TSC) for the first time in Hamburg, which makes the idea of undefined/bulk unloading and greater levels of automation a reality. Seen as a future-proof solution, it helps Posts to fulfil a high capacity sorter with greater parcel input whilst enabling the necessary criteria of single-file parcel flow.

TSC means that time-saving, bulk 3D and 2D unloading becomes a reality, the inefficiencies from manually unloading parcels piece by piece from trailers in high volumes is alleviated.  Following this, the necessity to separate the parcels is clear – automated separation through innovative TRANSNORM modules satisfies the necessity of feeding the sorter.  This principle is continuing evolution in an industry whereby proven, standardised TSC modules deliver on a bulk handling solution to overcome a challenge which will become more prevalent in Parcel hubs over the next decade.

A cascading waterfall effect means parcels are separated and spread from clusters which were originally either side-by-side or mounted on top of one another into single file alignment. Queuing with defined gaps then follows, facilitating the parcel detection for its height, weight and identification scan ahead of onward high speed handling before sortation.

Also absent of complex software controls and programming, TSC joins another recent smart solution for the Postal and Parcel Industry in TRANSNORM Sorting Modules (TSM), a version of which will also be present at PostExpo. The scalable and adaptable modular range includes a new alignment conveyor, curve transportation, merging and timing conveyors as well as linesplitting functions.
