    TRANSNORM SYSTEM GmbH established in Harsum

    This saw the commencement of the large-scale manufacture of standardised conveyors and associated assemblies for the construction of user-specific material handling solutions.

  • 1971

    The first TRANSNORM curved conveyor belt was launched on the market

    At this time, the endless belt had already been ushered in with the help of a belt edge and belt edge holder - a principle that has been proven even up to the present day.

  • 1979

    The first deployment of a TRANSNORM curved conveyor belt at an airport

    The first airport baggage handling system at Geneva airport was fitted with a TRANSNORM curved conveyor belt, which was soon deployed at all large airports worldwide.

  • 1984

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM GmbH was established in Tewkesbury

    As the first subsidiary abroad, TRANSNORM SYSTEM Ltd. was established in the UK as a Sales and Service company.

  • 1989

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM Inc. USA was established in the USA

    At the premises of TRANSNORM SYSTEM Inc. in Grand Prairie, Texas, work commenced promptly on setting up a manufacturing location for the important North American market.

  • 1994

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM Sdn. Bhd. was established in Malaysia

    As a joint venture, TRANSNORM SYSTEM Sdn. Bhd. in Kluang, Malaysia was established and expanded as the third production facility. The production of curved conveyor belts commenced for the Asian markets.

  • 1998

    TRANSNORM curved conveyor belts with aluminium frames were launched on the market

    With this innovative design of the curved conveyor belt using an aluminium construction, new benchmarks were set with respect to ease of installation and service-friendliness.

  • 2002

    The SmartSort® technology was showcased at the CeMAT event in Hanover

    A new generation of distribution technology with particularly high performance was launched on the market. A line crossing for diverting parcels, cardboard boxes and containers with a capacity of 6,000 pieces/hour was displayed.

  • 2005

    Market launch of the VertiSwitch®

    This powerful distribution unit was conceived especially for deployment in airport baggage handling systems as well as in sorting and distribution systems of the courier, express and parcel services.

  • 2007

    Inauguration of the Transnorm Competence Centre (TCC)

    With the TCC, TRANSNORM established a platform for the continuous exchange of experience with customers and suppliers alike.

  • 2011

    Market launch of the Intralogistics curve

    At the CeMAT 2011 event, TRANSNORM launched an Intralogistics curved conveyor belt in which the qualities of the legendary airport curved conveyor belts are transferred to meet the needs of Intralogistics. The outcome: 10-15% savings in energy and 25% reduction in weight.

    Global Excellence for Airports

    In line with the slogan "Global Excellence for Airports", the TRANSNORM Group launched the Global Airport Curve at the InterAirport event in Munich. With the Global Airport Curve, TRANSNORM responded to the special needs of the airport operators and integrators of baggage handling systems.

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM (Shanghai) Co. LTD was established

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM (Shanghai) Co. LTD was established as a Sales and Services company for China. With this, apart from direct sales support, TRANSNORM can now also offer improved service response times and shorter lead times for spare parts.

    IK Investment Partners acquires TRANSNORM

    IK Investment Partners - a Pan-European private equity firm focused on investments in mid-sized companies - acquires the TRANSNORM Group from the Equita Management GmbH.

  • 2015

    TRANSNORM Group acquires Sovex Ltd.

    TRANSNORM Group acquires the 100 % of Sovex Ltd. located in Prenton, Great Britain. Sovex is a leading manufacturer for loading and unloading modules and components that are mainly used in parcel and distribution hubs and distribution.

    Introduction of TRANSNORM Singulation Concept (TSC)

    Initial installation of the future-proof solution takes place at the Deutsche Post DHL Sorting Center. Providing a 6.000 parcel throughput capability through bulk 3D unloading and the singulation of over 95% of the parcel load spectrum from bulk to single file –delivering on ambitious automation and infrastructure goals for the market leading DPDHL.

    Introduction of TRANSNORM Sorting Modules (TSM) initiative

    Designed to offer a flexible, scalable, modular Parcel-specific portfolio to support automation at the increased number of smaller posts and express sites in the Parcel sector. TSM provides a short delivery times and easy installation whilst enabling space optimisation within existing sites, expansions and new builds. Covering the functions of unloading, conveying, timing, aligning, sorting and loading; the facilitation of high performance, reliable sortation for up to 6,000 pph is a reality

    TRANSNORM SYSTEM Co., Ltd. opens in Thailand Opens

    A new centralised production factory in the Bang Bo industrial zone of Eastern Bangkok is developed, housing cutting edge engineering equipment. Strategically located near the harbour and airport, the purpose built facility specialises in the production of belt curves, incline conveyors as well as SOVEX telescopic conveyors. Replacing the TRANSNORM Malaysia location, it acts as another manufacturing hub serving the Asia-Pacific region and beyond

    Expansion of existing production facility at TRANSNORM HQ

    Continued investment in TRANSNORM’s principal premises through increased production and assembly areas. An additional 4,500 sq/m of workspace provides space to house innovative machine technology and further reduction in lead times.

    Honeywell acquires TRANSNORM

    TRANSNORM joins Honeywell and complements the Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS) business.

    This strengthens TRANSNORM’s ability to continue to innovating and fulfilling the demands of its End User & Integrator customers.
