Only six months after construction began, the Transnorm Competence Center was opened on
02 November, 2007 by Detlef Walter CEO of the Transnorm Group. This new, state of the art multifunctional building will offer the space and facilities to entertain customers, introduce and demonstrate new products and house regular product development workshops with customers and suppliers.
Main tasks of TCC
Fully functioning standard conveyor modules and special system solutions are housed at the TCC allowing 'hands on' practical training to take place and ensuring that methods and theory are discussed and understood.
'Of course', said Detlef Walter in his opening speech, 'it is still important to continue to visit customers, but in terms of a global interaction, that alone is not enough. We must bring the market to us 'in house' to enable us to provide better and sustainable handling system solutions to the industry.
Now that we have the facilities of the TCC, product development will no longer operate in a vacuum, behind closed doors.
As well as the ongoing development of high quality products, knowledge of the market is a powerful tool that is an important aid to sales.'
Detlef Walter continued:
'Questions such as:
What problems can be solved using modular equipment?
How can I get the best functional and economic benefits?
How can I cut the operating costs?
All of these answers are needced before the planning and implementation of logistics systems but are not always answered accurately.'
Technology and Customer Centres for the dissemination of practical information and as permanent communication platforms between customer and client are increasingly important to industry.
Transnorm is aware of this and the introduction of the TCC reinforces our commitment to continue to be a sustainable partner for global general contractores and OEMs in the logistics buinsess.
