TRANSNORM attends Airport Infra Expo in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Having in mind the successful participation in the AIE 2012, TRANSNORM has decided also to attend the Airport Infra Expo 2013.
The exhibition has developed to a platform for great interaction with the maintenance managers and baggage handling managers from Brazilian Airports. “Transnorm equipment combines high quality with low maintenance intensity and durability, we like to share our knowledge and experiences with the BHSBHS
baggage handling system professionals in South America. We have a firm installed base and aim for a leading position in the region as in the rest of the world”, says the Key Account Manager Peter van der Klooster.
With equipments installed on Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo and Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, TRANSNORM recently won the contracts for the new projects in Rio de Janeiro and Campinas, as well as projects of Manaus International Airport and Confins International Airport. The positive outlook on projects that are in the final decision making process, and new challenges in the region induce TRANSNORM to look for a stable and long term presence in South America.
According to Mr. van der Klooster, TTRANSNORM will bring a huge experience on belt curve technology to the show, “The core of our equipment is still very close to the original design. That is backed up by a leading global position, where standardized Transnorm modules show best practice performance in the most diverse conditions. The relatively new additions to the product portfolio are in line with our high quality standards”.
Airport Infra Expo takes place from May 22nd and 24th, 2013 at Transamérica Expo Center, Sao Paulo/Brazil. TRANSNORM SYSTEM will exhibit as a participant of the GERMAN Pavilion in Pavilhão C, Booth 12-f.

After 16 years with the company, including nearly 12 years as Managing Director of TRANSNORM System GmbH, Mr. Detlef Walter is stepping down from management for personal reasons. Mr. Walter has based his decision on his individual plans for the future. He will continue to be affiliated with the company as a shareholder.
His successor, Mr. Sidy Diop, will be appointed Managing Director of TRANSNORM System GmbH effective 30 April. Mr. Diop has been with the company for over 10 years and previously headed up the Module and Customer Support divisions.
As part of this transition, the leadership of the TRANSNORM Group is being placed on a broader international footing in the form of a “Group Management Board”, which in addition to Mr. Sidy Diop will also include Mr. Gary Cline, Managing Director of American TRANSNORM System Inc.
With this new management structure, TRANSNORM is addressing the needs of globally-active markets. The aim is to further strengthen the company’s position as a dependable partner offering solutions for systems integrators active worldwide and as a quality leader for modules and solutions.

Transnorm is presenting vertical line distributors including those below the ceiling at Interairport
Harsum, 26th August 2011 --- The airport industry is seeking answers – to issues that revolve around increasing capacities, maximum safety, reducing operational costs and dealing with limited resources in a sustainable manner. It is in this area of conflict that Transnorm is launching an innovative vertical distributor unit with the VertiSwitch at Interairport in Munich (Hall B5, Stand 1284), from 11th to 14th October. It delivers advantages for baggage conveyor systems in various ways with its high level of cost-effectiveness.
Whether it is a matter of separating out pieces of suspicious baggage after screening quickly and accurately or highly dynamic line switching, Transnorm has developed the VertiSwitch especially for these types of tasks. The vertical line distributor needs barely one second to swivel between lines above one another in continuous conveyor flow. The distribution capacity is 2,000 pieces of baggage per hour. As a result of their compact design and construction, the units can be integrated into airport baggage conveyor systems without taking up too much space. Thanks to the construction that is optimised with respect to weight, yet robust in design, Transnorm clears the way for mounting the VertiSwitch – as you will be able to see in Munich - in fact, suspended overhead and below the ceiling. In this manner, the global market leader in belt curve conveyors emphasises, once again, its innovative claim in the segment of material handling technology.
Lower weight, minimum wear and tear, longer service life and enhanced availability: VertiSwitch achieves this performance with the help of its special design principle. Instead of using bulky and maintenance-intensive linear systems, the assemblies of robust geared motors are driven directly in conjunction with a swinging block linkage. Since the weight of the moving assembly could be reduced by almost one-third in the process, Transnorm could enhance the energy efficiency to a similar extent in the context of its own "Energy Saving Initiative". In this connection, the mechanical energy storage buffer represents a technical highlight, with the help of which VertiSwitch saves the potential energy released when lowering the conveyor and reuses it for the next lifting action.
Another benefit of this swivel mechanism and the overall open design and construction: Maintenance work is simplified. Over and above this, the modular and compact design of the VertiSwitch ensures that the units and assemblies can be dismantled with few movements for overseas transport. Since a larger number of line distributors can fit into the ship container in this manner, another noteworthy benefit is that freight costs reduce significantly.

TRANSNORM SYSTEM GmbH, a global leader on the curved and slanted conveyor belt markets, will present the new “TRANSNORM Intralogistical Curve“ TS1600-90 for the first time to the European market at the CeMAT 2011 exhibition.
“Our new belt curve generation is a high tech product for system integrators and end users of intralogistical products
that meets the highest standards of safety and economy and si-multaneously cuts energy consumption by 10-15%.
As the mechanics are already pretty well as highly developed as its possible for them to be this is an extremely respectable achievement” says Detlef Walter, CEO of the Transnorm Group.
“Our declared intention was to develop a belt curve meeting the reliability and long service life benchmarks set by the legendary Transnorm airport baggage conveyor curve. This had to be done on the basis of a design tailored to meet intralogistical needs and save 25% in weight as well.
We’ve now incorporated the qualities of our airport baggage conveyor belt curves in our new 1600-90 series for a very
wide range of uses in the intralogistical field as well as giving the new series an excellent cost-benefit ratio”.
Our TRANSNORM Intralogistical Curve is an attractive alternative both technically and financially to the old roller curves installed for cost reasons. The core of the new series is a patented development of a new belt guide design using new materials that ensures extremely high load capacity. This means the conveyor belt guidance system is now much lighter and has far fewer parts. Friction is thus reduced and energy saved as well. The intralogistical conveyor belt curves with their practical conveying speed of 2 meters a second and item maximum weight of 50 kilos meet all standard market requirements.
The new product even meets the overemphasised demand made by some competitors for high speed belt-replacement when servicing is due: this can be done by a single person in about ten minutes if the system dimensions involved are standard ones, the difference here being that Transnorm curves only need replacement every five to ten years.
The new curve will be shown in use on a high-performance conveying system at CeMAT 2011.
