Job Description

The post holder will report to the Managing Director Asia and will maintain a dotted line to the
Group Financial Director.  

Approximately 6 employees from accounting, HR and IT report to the post holder. 
The post holder is to relocate (following the probationary period) to the location of the company.

Scope of responsibility

Management of site related financial, accounting, reporting and administration related issues (local regulations and laws) with responsibility for profit improvement and efficiency improvement programs. Aims of the role

To gear the company to profitable growth in conjunction with the management team to increase the degree of operational excellence within the whole business (efficiency of commercial processes, streamlining of structures, etc.)

Duties

Ownership of all finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, legal, property & facilities, and corporate insurance for the business.

The role leads and directs all financial and corporate administrative activities and advises and supports the Managing Director to ensure the overall strategic objectives of the company are met or exceeded.

The Financial Director Asia is responsible for providing accounting and  financial leadership, by working with the Managing Director, to establish long term goals, strategies, plans and policies.


Key responsibilities

Financial Director Asia takes overall control of and responsibility for:
  • Working with the Managing Director and the Group Board to formulate the regional business strategy and long-term plans and objectives line
  • Line management for accounts and book keeping, accounts payable and receivable, credit control and payroll
  • Managing cash flow forecasting and cash management policies to optimize working capital requirements
  • Managing the company operating budget and budget/forecasting processes
  • Managing the company’s tax affairs to ensure compliance at all times with regulatory requirements and obligations (including corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and NI)
  • Ensuring all financial systems, processes and internal controls are robust, compliant and support all current activities. Appendix I refers to key processes for which further design and implementation are required (along with KPI reporting), to ensure that the Asian entities meet all finance and accounting related objectives as set out by Transnorm Global Management Board.

              - Finance and Accounting
              - Reporting in accordance with group standards
              - Procure to pay customer to cash
              - Project cost controlling
  • Establishing high level of credibility and maintain effective working relationships with all external stakeholders including customers, suppliers, banks and other financial institutions and professional advisors.
  • Managing all company insurance matters including (but not limited to):
    - Commercial combined
    - Product and employer liability
    - Motor fleet
    - Directors & officers
    - Travel
    - Marine cargo
  • Managing company risk strategy including (but not limited to):
    - Company risk register
    - Disaster recovery plans
    - IT infrastructure
    - Foreign currency policy (hedging, forward contracts, only with approval of Group Finance 
      Department)
  • Carrying out and managing all company secretarial functions and legal matters.
    - Supplier contracts
    - Customer contracts
    - Corporate compliance (Bribery Act, Corporate Manslaughter Act)

Education

Master Degree in Finance/Accounting and Business Administration
